SUMMARY:Durre Waseem demonstrates in New Bern - Morning light along River Walk - East Front St. and New St.
DESCRIPTION:Watch Art Happen — Live! \nDurre Waseem creates an original work of art live and in full view. \nBring a hat\, sunscreen\, and a lawn chair\, and enjoy a front-row seat as the artwork comes to life from start to finish. \nMeet the artist\, ask questions\, and experience the creative process up close. \nARTIST SHORT BIO\nMy work was more academic through my university years of studying and then teaching painting. After graduation my art progressed in three stages; when I started teaching post graduation classes\, more after I moved to the United States\, and most of all since 2018\, when I started participating in national pleinair events. I love using most mediums but i usually paint in oil \nI grew up in a family that loved to draw and color. I took up formal art classes in college and earned a Masters degree from Punjab university where I taught for next seven years and later three at a girls college. It was during my teaching years that I explored myself as an artist with better understanding of seeing and omitting. For next 30 years of painting my colors and strokes evolved and as they adapted through my exposure to different art and places. I feel that now I only take charge of selecting a subject and my painting leads me through the process.

SUMMARY:Jill Banks demonstrates in New Bern -NOCTURNAL- Middle St.\, meet near Birthplace of Pepsi
DESCRIPTION:Watch Art Happen — Live! \nJill Banks creates an original work of art live and in full view. \nBring a hat\, sunscreen\, and a lawn chair\, and enjoy a front-row seat as the artwork comes to life from start to finish. \nMeet the artist\, ask questions\, and experience the creative process up close. \nARTIST SHORT BIO\nJill’s tagline\, “Capturing Life in Oils” describes her mission to celebrate the magic of the everyday. After a 16-year first career\, Jill’s artistic journey began with portraiture classes in 2003. In 2011\, Jill embarked on her 100 Faces in 100 Days Project — creating a daily portrait of anyone who volunteered to sit for her. After discovering she could paint moving subjects and missing the daily arrival of “models\,” Jill headed outside to capture whatever and whoever she found. While she also paints portraits\, still lifes and interiors\, Jill’s plein air adventures capturing life on location is her greatest thrill.
