DESCRIPTION:GALLERY CLOSED FOR JUDGING- 3:00 PM-6:00 PM \n(Ticketed Reception 5 PM-6:00 PM  – -REOPENS TO PUBLIC 6:00 PM \nFestival headquarters\, and the NC Plein Air Art Festival Exhibition and Sales Gallery will be based at Historic New Bern’s Farmers Market\, less than two blocks from Tryon Palace.. \nBeginning Monday morning May 11\, the Exhibition And Sales Gallery will open daily at 9 pm. A full exhibition of artwork by our featured artists will be on display and for sale\, framed and ready to hang. The artists will arrive in New Bern with a collection of their current artwork\, both plein air and studio paintings. These paintings will be replaced with wet canvases as the artists create a new body of work highlighting New Bern\, Oriental\, and Beaufort. \nYou will want to visit often as the collection changes daily as artwork is sold and replaced with new wet canvases. Our gallery greeters and sales team will be ready to help you find the perfect painting for your home or business. \nComplete resumes and biographies are available at the main gallery. Special commissions can be discussed with our sales team. \nThe Exhibition Gallery will be closed for judging May 16\, 2 pm -6 pm and will reopen for a Collector’s Preview and Awards Ceremony and Celebration (Limited tickets available for purchase here: https://ncpleinair.org/product/collectors-preview-awards-reception-tickets/ \nThe Competition Exhibition with Award Winners will be open to the public (free) at 6:00 PM.  Saturday\, May 16 and again May 17\, 8:30 AM – 1 PM. \nHOW AND WHERE TO PURCHASE PAINTINGS All Paintings are Framed and ready to hang.\nMain Exhibition Gallery OPEN DAILY 9 pm  421 S Front Street\, New Bern\, NC \nPOP-UP RECEPTION\, May 15  – Beaufort Historic Site Gallery \n100 Block Turner Street 4-6 pm \nSales Gallery at Farmers Market open daily 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM  \nFarmers Market Exhibition Gallery – Exceptional closing May 16\, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM for judging and donor preview. DESCRIPTION:Online Pre-registration will open January 20\, 2026\n $15.00 Open Adult (18+) \nFREE Youth Category (ages 10-17)\n2026 Plein Air New Bern Quick Paint Event Agenda \nThe North Carolina Plein Air Art Festival is pleased to host its 2025 Quick Paint Event. The following rundown includes the event’s schedule\, rules\, eligibility requirements\, and instructions for the display and sales. Please familiarize yourself with the guidelines.. \nEvent Schedule\n7:30 a.m. – Walk-up registration\, check-in\, and stamping at 421 S Front St in New Bern.\n8:00 a.m. – Open and youth participants begin painting.\n9:00 a.m. – Featured Artists start painting.\n11:00 a.m. – Painting ends\, and all participants head to the Farmers Market for the display and judging.\n11:30 a.m. – Deadline for placing your easel at the Farmer’s Market Parking Lot for judging.\n12:00 p.m. – Awards announcement\, followed by the start of sales.\n12:00-1:00 p.m. – Your paintings will be displayed on easels for public viewing and sales.\n1:30 p.m. – All unsold artwork must be removed from the display space. \nEligibility Requirements and Rules\nAll painting and drawing mediums are permitted\, but photography is not. Framing is optional\, but it is recommended for the open adult categories. All entries must be labeled with your registration number and price\, or the words “Not For Sale” if applicable.\nAfter awards are announced\, you can bring one additional piece that you painted during the event week to display on your easel for sale\, in addition to your Quick Paint entry. \nSales\nPlein Air New Bern staff will handle sales for the Adult Open and Featured Artists categories\, which will include a 40% commission that supports the Plein Air New Bern organization. Cash sales for the Youth category may be direct between artists and buyer. Credit card purchases for the Youth category is available at cashier. There is no commission for Youth category. \nRegistration is required for both Adults and Youth. You may create multiple Adult tickets or Youth tickets\, but Adults and Youths tickets must be entered separately \n
