Artist Statement
My goal as an artist is to convey the joy and awe I feel when witnessing the beauty of the world we inhabit. Painting is the most fulfilling work I’ve ever found.
Finishing a painting in one sitting from life presents the challenge of recording my immediate experience. Painting from life is extremely rewarding to me. I find it the most honest form of painting.
Standing with an easel outdoors—that’s when the years of practice come into play—the discipline to record the fleeting moment on canvas before it disappears forever.
